Hi all, I found that the hotel in Peru Ill. has free Wi-Fi, so I figured I'd poke in and say hi before we hit the road. We made it 800 miles yesterday, in 3 sections. My mom followed in a Penske truck, and I lead the pack in the (now COVERED in dead yellow bugs) Z. The real story is my gas mileage. I usually get about 21 mpg, (at most 23 mpg). Setting the cruise control at 65-70 all the way(ok, the first 2/3rds) here got me unheard of mpg! Through the mountains of PA, I got 27 mpg, which I thought was magical. Even better though, was the fill after that, which took me thorugh the flats of PA, and the ULTRA flats of Ohio (which I could have set the wheel, and slept in the trunk). I managed to record 308 miles (actually is 326, b/c my tires make it 6% too low), and fill 10.5 gallons. For those of you following along at home, that makes 31 mpg! That'll show that goofy prius owner who gave me crap. I most likely won't be able to check on this topic, but wish me luck on the road. If ya see a bug-covered red '90 Z traveling rt 80, make sure you wave!
